Alejandra
Iorgulescu was born on January 24th - 1977, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
As with most designers, Illustrators and all visual artists for
that matter, she has been interested in all forms of art for as
long as she can remember. One of her favorite things while growing
up was attending this great art workshop for kids, probably where
she learnt the basiscs about color, shape and texture. At age 18,
she got into College to study Graphic Design, and it was no wonder
that the subject in which Alex excelled the most was not GD itself,
but Illustration! Alexandra comes from a traditional pencil and
charcoal background, although nowadays she's far more interested
and commited to digital illustration.
Alex admires Andy Warhol for the simplicity yet "eye-catching"
power in his works, and strongly believes that we can move along
those same ideas today: clean lines, few colors, almost a minimalistic
approach to art, enough to convey the message we want to transmit.
Needless to say: she's drawn to modern minimal architecture and
interior design as well. She says: "Inspiration is all around
me: music, movies, photography, fashion ... I love to capture the
essence of what I am looking at and transmit it in my work".
On February 2002, she left Argentina and moved to Los Angeles, California
and has now relocated once more to Vegas, Nevada! Like many foreigners
in a new place, you leave your country but it's habits, culture,
vibe ... they are and will always be with you! I like to think that
all of that will be in some way reflected in my art, and possibly
make it richer and more interesting!
